Provision Networks Helps Renasant Bank Improve the Citrix Presentation Server
Experience
Consulting with Provision Networks and Implementing the
Provision Management Framework Eliminated Profile Corruption Issues and
Accelerated Logon Times by as much as 4500%
January 30, 2007 – Reston, VA -- Provision Networks, a global provider
of application delivery and dynamic desktop deployment solutions for the VMware
Virtual Infrastructure and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows Terminal Server
platform, today announced that Renasant Bank has deployed the Provision
Management Framework to improve the performance, enhance the reliability, and
better the experience of its application access infrastructure.
Publicly traded Renasant Corporation is the parent of Renasant Bank and Renasant
Insurance. Renasant has assets of approximately $2.5 billion and operates 63
banking and insurance offices in 38 cities in Mississippi, Tennessee and
Alabama.
Renasant turned to Provision Networks to resolve a variety of performance issues
they were experiencing with their Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 access
infrastructure. These issues included excessively long logon times, profile
corruption, sluggish performance, and printing difficulties.
After considering several solutions and piloting a few others including the
Provision Networks MetaProfiles-IT, the team at Renasant opted for the
Provision Management Framework (PMF) suite, citing its completeness and
flexibility as two big selling points.
“We were experiencing logon times up to 15 minutes, a large number of profile
corruptions, remote printing challenges, and overall slow performance,” said
Rusty Yates, Senior Systems Administrator with Renasant. “We were very pleased
with the support provided to us by Provision Networks. PMF has done wonders for
our environment, from session configuration and lockdown, to accelerated
logons.”
“Working with Provision Networks, we were able to reduce our logon times to
around 20 seconds. The savings in user productivity gains alone are
approximately $1.2 million per year,” said James Hayes, Network Operations
Manager with Renasant.
The Provision Management Framework – Standard Edition is an integrated
management solution designed to improve and enhance the provisioning,
performance, reliability, manageability, and security of server-based computing
solutions such as Citrix Presentation Server environments. Managed through the
Provision Management Console, the suite includes:
-
Print-IT (EMF and PDF universal print driver for client, LAN, and WAN
printing)
-
MetaProfiles-IT (advanced user profile management)
-
Manage-IT (server-based session / desktop configuration and lockdown)
-
Max-IT (CPU utilization management and virtual memory optimization)
-
USB-IT (redirection of USB-connected handhelds - BlackBerry, Palm, and
Pocket PC)
-
VIP-IT (per-session IP address assignment)
-
Block-IT (access control for restricting access to unsanctioned
applications and network servers)
-
Redirect-IT (per-user file and registry redirection)
-
TimeZones-IT (per-session time zone assignment)
